Rice Porridge Buffet

We’re launching “We Stir, They Rise”, a seasonal initiative built around a rice porridge buffet — a nod to Finnish holiday traditions and the rise of trendy porridge culture in Helsinki.

From 19.11.-19.12., we’ll serve up warm bowls with exciting toppings, inviting locals and guests to gather around comfort food with a twist. Every porridge bought will donate to a local nonprofit.

Be your own porridge master for 8€ and choose from the toppings: Brown butter & cinnamon-sugar, blueberry-gingerjam, roasted apple jam, coconut caramel, roasted white chocolate, Hobo granola, dried raspberries, prunes & apricots, coconut flakes and salted almonds. 

In today’s job market, even entry-level roles can feel out of reach for young people. Many lack the experience, confidence, or connections to take their first steps — and the pressure to perform often outweighs the opportunity to learn. At Hobo, we’re already deeply rooted in our community. We host events, collaborate across industries, and bring people together in meaningful ways. Now, we want to use that energy to support youth who need it most — by offering them a space to grow, connect, and gain hands-on experience in a low-pressure, welcoming environment.

Alongside the buffet, we’ll host a weekly Porridge Club — casual, cozy events for youth in collaboration with a local nonprofit. These gatherings will feature relaxed hangouts with some industry leaders, but the heart of it is mentorship. We’ll invite our partners from different industries — to join us, share their stories, and inspire young people through conversation and connection even with step-by-step knowledge from the fields.

We've teamed up with a local nonprofit, Children of the Station (Aseman Lapset ry), to invite youth from their community and to forward all donations to them. The core mission of Children of the Station is to support the safe growth of children and youth, enable the well-being of them and their families and inhibit social exclusion. The guiding forces of the organization are openness, humanity and presence. A central purpose is to increase the presence of adults in the daily life of children and youth.
