Well hello, welcome Hobo Live Club Fridays! For the rest of 2025 we will host a monthly live gig Fridays with a selection of amazing local artists. And the best part? It's FREE for you! Music kicks off at 21:00, the bar’s stocked and the kitchen’s serving. 

Live Club Friday, 11th of April: Asa & DJ Polarsoul!

Avain, Asamasa, Mats Nyckelström—many names, one artist. Asa has always done things his own way, emerging from Helsinki’s Roihuvuori with sharp lyrics tackling politics, society, and everyday struggles. His debut Punainen tiili set the tone for a career where activism, humor, and raw storytelling go hand in hand. Over the years, his sound has evolved, blending social commentary with themes of nature, humanity, and even the vastness of the universe. His latest album Rapsodia brings a more laid-back, feel-good vibe—perfect for weekend lounging, as Asa himself puts it.

Asa’s underground spirit has been evident in everything from rare mixtapes (Foetida-Pro Promo) to bold, self-released albums. His live presence has shifted too—from the full-band energy of Jätkäjätkät to stripped-down DJ sets with Polarsoul, and now Asa & Band, where rock, funk, and folk meet in a unique fusion. Expect mandolins, drum machines, vinyl crackles, and the occasional Tarzan yell. His 2018 solo album Rakkauslauluja Miehille proves that his words still carry weight, balancing East Helsinki grit with ever-expanding perspectives.
